Need Info on 2019 Ride Command Operation

New member here and I am looking to purchase either a 2019 SL or SLR and have a few questions on the Ride Command Entertainment System. I have not been able to find a manual on the unit. Both myself and my passenger will be using helmets. We both will be using iPhone XRs.

I plan on using blue-tooth to make phone calls, obtain navigation directions, listen to radio and talk to my passenger. If I get the SL I would be using the phone as my navigation device.

I would like to have my passenger to listen to radio, take phone calls on their phone and talk to me but not listen to navigation directions or my phone calls and I will not be able to listen in on the passengerís phone calls.

Can I do this with the non-navigation Ride Command?

Or do I need to go with the Ride Command with navigation?

I assume that the intercom feature would not go thru the Ride Command, is that correct?

What helmet blue-tooth units do you recommend?

Thanks

Short answer is no. Bluetooth versions lower than version 5 are one device to one device only. Bluetooth version 5 now allows music (only) to be streamed from one source device to two destination devices. But Ride Command doesn't have Bluetooth version 5. Phone calls are still one device to one device. In order for your passenger to make/receive phone calls, (s)he would have to unpair your phone and pair his/hers. Intercom mode has never been supported with multiple bluetooth devices, although sometime in the future, if we get extensions to Bluetooth that allow it, you should be able to call your passenger and converse. Hope you have unlimited talk minutes !!
